A Little Story. . .

So here is a snapshot of Hubby's and my history together.

I began College at a Large University in 2000. Future Hubby began college at the same Large University in 1998. We both enjoyed college, and had our own lives and life experiences until February 2004. We both were rock climbing throughout our mutual years at LU and had not met before, despite shared aquaintances. We met at a "dessert party" that a few of our mutual Rock Climbing friends threw around Valentine's Day. Hubby maintains that it was an anti-VDay extravaganza, but I did not get that vibe. I made chess squares (I used to cook and bake a LOT more than I do now) for the party, and afterwards can't remember how he got my number, but he called the next week and we made a date for February 19, 2004. Other than our anniversary, which, bad wife that I am, I forgot this year, that is one of the few dates I remember. We went to my favorite local restaurant and went to a bar and just talked for hours. And so it began.

We dated for the next 3 years. I graduated from college, and moved 1.5 hours away to start nursing school. Hubby graduated from Law School and moved to a different state to work. I spent a summer in Philadelphia working at CHOP. It was awesome. He changed jobs and started working for a judge. We got engaged! I graduated from school (again), and moved to the same city, finally. I started my first job, and planned our wedding. It was perfect, our families both came, and so did our closest friends. We had 26 people there, and I loved it!

We moved into his apartment (that he shared with a roommate). I cleaned it and we still live there. A year later my Mom and Sister R came up to feng shui my apartment, cause I don't have those genes. We plugged along in our jobs and daily lives, I finally got off night shift in August of 2007. We began planning for hubby to find a new job (because the current one ended in August 2008) We looked all over the country, talked about various possibilities, he applied everywhere. We entertained thoughts of different careers, but none of them panned out. he finally settled on a law firm job and started in November 2008. Hubby was unhappy in the attorney role, and needed and wanted something else. We had talked about this option before, but it was not one of my favorites.

After assisting my parents buy a dog for Sister J's 16th birthday, we decided to take the plunge and add to our family. After research and ationality discussions we decided on a breed, and breeder. We got a miniature schnauzer, adn it was love at first sight. I picked him up and he rode all the way back in my lap. That tiny 8 pound ball of fluff was so cute sitting with me in the car. Now that he is 20 pounds he'sa little larger on my lap, but just as cute! He has been a wonderful addition to the family, and has made the separation easier. I love Fuzz.

In October of 2008, we began planning for the possibility of Military service. One eye surgery, new car, motorcycle, age waiver, and hours and hours of discussion later, we were ready. Hubby moved to a base in May. We spent eight weeks with two phone calls. Horrible. I kept busy with travel, camp and family. Saw Hubby for a brief weekend in July, and will see him again for a weekend now. Can't wait!
